I2G kicked it with one of the homies in the music biz, Mr. A-Dot for a exclusive interview. Those familiar with the site will remember A-Dot from his appearance on our Sanctuary Volume 2 mixtape, his previous interview and the 2-1 Click interview. Well this time around we discuss his upcoming album, Ready For Testin, his duo album with Mac-D, the rising music scene in Fort Worth, TX, 2-1 Click and much more so check it out.

Illuminati 2G is here with Mr. A-Dot. How we feeling fam?

-Man, I'm feeling good.Rejuvenated is more like it, I've rested,went through some things,but im still here.

That's is good to hear homie. Let's get right into it. Ready For Testin tell me what the listeners are in store for with the album.

-Well, I know we did an interview in the past, the album had been put on delay, now that were in full effect, were going into another direction. Some of these records are a little older, but the way it's all fit into the album, makes alot of sense. You can hear the growth and it feels good. Hip hop heads should be in for a treat.

Who are some of the producers and rappers you worked with on this album?

-My newest single "Where'd You Go?" is produced by Certified Bangerz. I'm hoping the newer songs will keep my buzz relevent and the fan base will grow. As far as collaberations go, I had to kind of distance myself from some of these "rappers" cuase alot of artist are way too big headed. Everyone thinks they're the hometown hero, and that isn't marketing, that's your backyard. But I did mange to work with Lil Ronnie of Tum Tum's TBG'Z, and Louie Evol from ONE FLO, he's on two records.

You have some real introspective tracks like I dont Need Fame and Where'd You Go. Tell me a little bit about each of those tracks.

-They're both real personal, I don't know any other way to tell a story than to tell my own. If you ever hear me rapping about being in love. 9 times out of 10,I'm in love. If you hear me rapping about paper,then im getting it. As far as these records,"I dont Need Fame" was a little break up piece, but "Where'd you Go?" was just the icing on the cake, true story.

What are your feelings on the hip hop scene in Fort Worth? Smoothvega dropped his album and now with you set to drop it seems like it is on the cusp of blowing up nationally.

-That's a real interesting way to look at it. As far as Fort Worth goes, If your a Texan there's something about you that makes you represent it..to the fullest. Ask any underground or major artist from Texas, they'll never stop repping where they're from. As far as national stardom goes, I personally dont think hip-hop will ever be the way it was. Where each region had they're shine. Look at the GS Boyz, Or Trai-D,Or even DSR, these guys are a town away from us and they got major deals. But it's still not taking "US" anywhere. When NY was all over hip-hop and when the west was all over it, even the MidWest. Fort Worth has alot of promising Emcee's I look at Renizance like I would look at The Game, I look at Smoothvega Like I would look at Chamillionaire, I look at Royal South like I would look at a Young Joc or a Soulja Boy. We have alot of variety, I'm not the only one in the pot, they're other artists boiling.

You and Mac-D still have any plans of putting out a duo album?

-Dude is crazy, you know that right? Ha Ha. He's a genius. I can't catch him out of the studio at all. He is like the Agg-town Lil Wayne. He doesn't even like me comparing him to NOBODY! Were still working on it. It's titled "Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde" hopefully if all goes well that'll be out in the winter time. Every song so far is nuts, I'm a fan.

Yeah he is a beast on that mic. Still no plans to put out any material from the 2-1 Click?

-Nah man. My heart is in it,but nobody else's. I mean Lil Tex is still here. He is on my record "Poppin tags" thats a hot record too.2-1c was basically mixtapes anyway,and even then,I got so much on my plate right now, with my solo and Mac-D's duo I'm not looking to do any more projects but my own.

Do you have any upcoming shows or tour dates coming up that you want to let the people know about?

-I'm actually going on Tour with my boys S.U.K. The "ALL or Nothing Tour" well be hitting like 7 cities right after the album drops. Strictly Texas, This is the state popping right now any way.
